Irrigation fundamentals is a one or two-day course targeting new entrants to the industry and frontline staff from businesses and organisations that provide services to the irrigation industry. The course gives attendees a comprehensive overview of irrigation systems and their use of water – from source to paddock.
The course provides a mixture of practical, on-farm work, as well as classroom contact. Attendees will gain an understanding of soil, crop and climate relationships and their implications for irrigation; regulation and sustainability; system types and componentry; basic hydraulics and pumping; designing irrigation systems; troubleshooting and maintenance.
