New Zealand Certificate in Irrigation Management

Gain the skills and knowledge to manage irrigation on a large or small scale property. Learn the skills to become the key decision maker overseeing irrigation for commercial agriculture, horticulture, sports grounds or public recreation facilities. The Level 4 NZQA certificate in Irrigation Management has a duration of seven months over the irrigation season .You will need to have access to an irrigated property, on which you can base the on-the-job evidence collection required for assessment.

 

At the end of this programme, you’ll be able to:

  • Determine the irrigation requirements for a commercial agriculture or horticulture property, irrigation scheme or sports or public recreation amenity
  • Carry out effective irrigation scheduling
  • Make proactive decisions about the maintenance and replacement of irrigation equipment

Assessment requirements:

  • A completed design brief for a property
  • Evidence portfolio of decisions made and tasks carried out over an irrigation season
  • Completed operation and maintenance manual with schedule of work carried out over a season

Course Materials:

The following course materials will be provided to you

  • Evidence portfolio outlining all the assessment requirements.
  • Learning materials including worked examples, INZ templates and guidelines.
