Irrigation fundamentals is a 2 day course targeting new entrants to the industry and frontline staff of businesses and organisations that provide services to the irrigation industry. The aim of the 2 days is to give people a comprehensive overview of the complexity of the systems that take water from source to paddock.
The course will be a mixture of practical work out on farm as well as classroom contact. Attendees will walk away with an understanding of soil, crop and climate relationships and their implications on irrigation; regulation and sustainability; system types and componentry; basic hydraulics and pumping; designing irrigation systems; troubleshooting and maintenance.
Where: Hastings – The Green Shed, Centre for Land and Water
When: 8-9 August 2017 , 8.30am – 5pm daily
Cost: INZ members $950 + GST non members $1250 + GST
